a simple drawing showing the features of its subjects in a humorously exaggerated way, especially a satirical one in a newspaper or magazine. In this class, girls and boys will learn how to create illustrations and cartoons by using their keen observational skills and various “tricks of the trade.” The class will begin with a look at some of the great illustrators of all time — with time devoted to recreating illustrations from these artists. A large part of the class will focus on teaching students how to create their very own cartoons along with the essential character development. .
