R&F Handmade Paints Encaustic and Pigment Sticks Hands-on Demonstration

Encaustic paint is a very versatile medium. It acts as a colored paint, an adhesive, and a preservative. It is painted while in a melted form and hot. Depending upon the heat used in the final fusing (reheating) process, a variety of surface textures are achieved. The hardened wax can be carved like wood and objects can be embedded in the paint providing the opportunity to use a variety of materials in each painting.

Pigment Sticks are oil paint in stick form, with a touch of wax added.  They can be used on palettes like tube oils, used directly to draw, and be set with a touch of heat. They are also great for printmaking.

Come to this hands-on demo to learn about and actually try these versatile materials.
