6:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Instructor: Leslie Giuliani
Come out and try this simple printmaking technique and explore working with some amazing materials. We will be creating one-of-a-kind prints using Encaustic, an ancient hot wax painting medium. We will then use a combination of painting and drawing materials to enhance our prints, even sewing! Since we will be printing on Encaustiflex, a paper-like microfiber material, we will be able to cut and sew our work into a variety of forms, including books. This is a great way to jump-start your creativity no mater what level your experience.
This is a fun event open to all. RAC will provide all instruction, art materials and a light dinner. You just need to bring your enthusiasm and the beverage of your choice.
Leslie Giuliani has a rather eclectic artistic background. Having graduated with a B.F.A. in drawing, oil painting and photography, she continued her studies in a variety of media including fresco, egg tempera, digital embroidery and encaustic.
Ms. Giuliani has been an arts instructor for over 25 years, specializing in encaustic and the materials of making artwork. She has taught privately, at arts centers, colleges and museums. She is Core Support Instructor for R&F Handmade Paints.
Her work is in the collections of the State of Connecticut and The Hall-Brooke Institute for Behavioral Studies. Her paintings have been featured in two international encaustic biennial exhibitions and she has exhibited widely.
