“For me the knife is not just a tool, it is the key to unlock my creative freedom. I love the spontaneity. I love the accidents. I love no brushes to wash”

This workshop is a two day introduction to the joys and challenges of painting with the palette knife.  We’ll start with a demo– a still life set in the studio –demonstrating basic handling techniques and a few tricks. Afterwards students will paint working exclusively with the knife, receiving individual instruction and guidance with an eye to developing their own expertise and style. Day two will start with a demo of unique textures, glazes and patinas which can be created with the palette knife using mediums to enhance the consistency or transparency of the paint.
