ROWAYTON ARTS CENTER FEATURES ABSTRACTS

March 20, 2017 ….The next exhibit at the Rowayton Arts Center flashes spring in bright colors and bold shapes. “Abstraction” opens on Sunday, April 2, 4-6pm; the reception is free and open to the public. Exhibit winners will be announced at the reception.

The juror for this exhibit will be Riad Miah from New York City. Miah, a lecturer, professor and consultant, is also an award winning abstract painter. “I approach the creation of these paintings somewhat as a scientist approaches his/her research: interested in the aesthetics and the process of discovery rather than in solving a problem,” Riad said of his recent work.

“We could not be more pleased and delighted to have Miah join us for this event,” said RAC President, Bruce Horan.

The “Abstraction” exhibition features art in any media, on any theme. Exhibiting artists were encouraged to work with a large degree of independence from realistic representation. Artwork is available for purchase.  The “Abstraction” chairperson is Barbara Seith and co-chair is Ann Marie Tetelman. The exhibit will be up until April 23.
