ROWAYTON ARTS CENTER’S UPCOMING NEW EXHIBIT, “EXPRESSIONS”

September 23, 2016… The new exhibition,  “Expressions,” opens Sunday, Oct. 2, at the Rowayton Arts Center.  An exhibit featuring the work of both regional RAC members and non-members alike, artists were free to express themselves without restrictions on theme or medium. Expect surprises. One surprise is the guest appearance of Senate Majority Leader Bob Duff, who will award the first annual “Senator’s Selection” prize.  This will be a first for RAC and a first for Norwalk.  Another prize for “Best in Show” is the $250 Mavis Fenner Memorial Award. The juror for the show is Sue Brown Gordon, a painter and jewelry designer. The exhibit is chaired by Yuko Ike and co-chaired by Judy Noel and Kaz Oda.

The public is invited to attend the opening reception free of charge, on Sunday, October 2 (4-6pm) at 145 Rowayton Ave. The Arts Center, located on the bank of the scenic Five Mile River, is a cultural hub where local and regional artists of all ages and levels of expertise gather for education, exhibition and inspiration. Through its classes, gallery, outreach programs and events, the Arts Center endeavors to promote creativity in the arts and to expand its involvement within the community. Gallery hours are Tuesday-Saturday 11-5pm, Sunday 1-4pm. “Expressions” will be in the gallery until October 30.
