Photography and sculpture take center stage in September at the Rowayton Arts Center. Award winning photographer, and Berkeley, MIT grad, Gennadiy Goldenshteyn of Manchester, CT has his solo show in the Portside Gallery. His work features images from around the world.

In the main gallery, RAC members exhibit their photography and sculpture in black and white and living color. Exhibit chairs are Barbara Murphy and Amaz Behjari.   The Exhibition Judge is Connecticut artist, photographer, world traveler and designer David Pressler.

Both exhibits open Sunday, September 3, but the opening reception is Sunday, September 10 (2-4pm for the Solo Show and 4-6pm for the Main Gallery), delayed due to the Labor Day holiday; it is free and open to the public. Also free and open to the public is Hands-on Encaustics Demonstration with art instructor Leslie Giuliani (2-4pm).

The next exhibit, “Expressions” in October is an open call for all artists. Opening reception is Sunday, October 2, 4-6pm.

Another upcoming event in October is a Craft Beer Event: Friday, October 13, 6-8pm. It will be brats on the grill, plenty of beer and lots of good cheer. Check the website for details.

For almost 60 years, the Rowayton Arts Center has been a cultural gem in the community. It is an exceptional gallery where regional artists may exhibit and sell their art as well as a wonderful venue for art workshops and classes. The Art School offers classes to children and adults at all levels. The RAC Gallery and Art School are located on the bank of the scenic Five Mile River in Rowayton, CT at 145 Rowayton Avenue.
