Entry Procedures and Submission Guidelines

Artist’s Eligibility: All RAC Exhibiting and Supporting Members: Membership dues must be current. Non RAC Members: $30 fee.

Acceptable Items:
All items must be quality, original works by the artist. To keep within the spirit of the show some embellishment of purchased items is allowed. The exhibition chair may refuse any entry on the grounds of unsuitability, poor condition, or oversized for gallery space.

Small Craft items: maximum of 25 works per single item …10 will be displayed and replenished as needed
Large items: Platters, pottery, entertaining pieces, etc.: 5 max
Painted furniture: 2 max
Prints & Cards: 1 basket of 20 each. Small canvas art (max size 10 X 10): 1 basket of 5-10
Small framed art (max size 10 X 10): 1 basket 5-10

BEFORE you arrive, please have each of your items clearly marked with price, your initials / name and fill out your “sign in” sheet. (See link below) You will not be able to do this at RAC during receiving hours.

Inventory Sheets

Framed traditional wall art: Two works per Exhibiting member, Max frame size: 20 X 24 inches, art must be dry, framed, wired and ready to hang (no sawtooth hangers). For plexi-mounted art, picture hangers attached to the back side of the frame structure are acceptable. No renderings or copies of other artists’ works.

Dimensional wall art (art that needs to be displayed on the wall): maximum of 5 pieces.

BEFORE you arrive, please label the back of each artwork with your name / initials / price. Also, provide wall labels with your name / medium / title / price

Important Dates:
Receiving: Saturday & Sunday, November 11 & 12 — 12 – 5 pm; Monday & Tuesday, November 13 & 14 – 12 – 5 pm
Special Opening Weekend Hours: Saturday – Monday, November 18 – 20, from 10 am to 5 pm
Show Dates: November 18 – December 24
Pick Up Unsold Work: Tuesday & Wednesday, December 26 & 27 from 12 to 5pm (storage fees of $5 per day will be charged for work picked up late).

RAC Fees & Policies:
Fees: No entry fee for RAC members, however, ALL participants are required to volunteer for 2-3 shifts during the show. NOTE: For Exhibiting Members, this does not go towards your required annual 5 hours. Non RAC Members: $30 fee.
Sales: RAC will collect a commission of 30% on all sales.
Liability: Entries will be handled with all possible care, but artists submitting work agree to hold harmless the Rowayton Arts Center, their agents and employees from any claim of damage or theft that might arise from any cause whatsoever. Artists should arrange for proper insurance coverage for their work. Entry to the show constitutes agreement with all of the conditions stated above.
Waiver for Pictures Taken/Used: We document each RAC exhibition/show with photographs. Entry into an exhibition/show at the Rowayton Arts Center constitutes permission to photograph you and/or your items and to use an image of your items in the RAC newsletter, web site and promotional materials for the show.
