“Sunset,” an oil painting by Lilly Langotsky, won Best in Show in the “Marine and Coastal” all-media exhibition that is at the Rowayton Arts Center through July 26. The RAC gallery at 145 Rowayton Avenue is open from 12:00-5:00 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and from 1:00-4:00 p.m. on Sundays. Admission is free. The winning artwork was selected from 97 entries by William McCarthy, who stated “This area has such a strong history in the visual arts that it was no wonder that this exhibit would have a very diverse field of entries to choose from. I selected work that I felt best explored the medium as well as answering the overall question of Maritime and Coastal art. Congratulations to all the artists who entered. This is a very handsome group of work.”

For more than 50 years the Rowayton Arts Center has been a community cultural hub that provides a welcoming environment for regional artists to exhibit and sell their work, exchange arts-related ideas, and participate in classes and workshops for creative people of all ages and at all levels.
