Class Description

Join Muffy Pendergast as she leads your children through fun and adventurous ways to explore the key elements of art. Color, line, shape, form, texture, space and value will all be discussed and experienced through various creative projects.  She’ll have your children drawing, painting, collaging and much more using many of the items you already have around your house.  It’s the perfect class for any child looking for more art in their week.

This class will be taught online through Zoom, a format Muffy has been using with her New Haven students for the past six weeks.

About Muffy Pendergast

Muffy’s been teaching art to children for the past eight years through her New Haven based art school,  and has a boat load of projects and ideas she’d love to share with your children.  She is a true creative who loves sharing her talents with children and families.   Muffy is well known around New Haven as the “Empress” of the annual Giant Puppet and People Making Mayhem Parade.  Not only is she instrumental in the organization of the parade, but is hands-on in the months ahead creating puppets with various families and organizations.

Muffy is married to Frank Bruckmann, a well known New Haven artist who teaches a weekly class for adults at the Rowayton Arts Center.  Both of them, along with their children, have just returned from a year-long sabbatical in Provence where they painted, explored, learned the language and went to school.

We’re thrilled to have Muffy as part of our teaching staff.
