A new show at the Rowayton Arts Center (RAC), “Autumn Juried Show,” will be on view October 18, 2020 through November 14, 2020. This all media exhibition features artwork by 78 artists from the area chosen from almost 300 submissions. The Chair for the exhibition is Yuko Ike and the Co-chair is Maria Friscia.
Winners were announced by the judge, Kristin Peterson Edwards: Best in Show Marcy Juran of Westport, “Lace, Bindweed I Imagined Garden” (Mixed Media), 1st Place: Karen Popp of Greenwich, “Grand Entrance” (Mixed Media), 2nd Place: Kerry Long of Greenwich, “Constellation #1” (Photography), 3rd Place: Lenny Moskowitz of New Haven, “Garden at Edgerton Park” (Painting), Honorable Mention: Joanna Bridges of Darien, “River Reflections Mosaic” (Photography), Jennifer Williams of Rowayton, “Lady in Waiting” (Painting), John Gould of South Salem, “Café” (Painting) and Lynne Byrne of Darien, “Queen Anne’s Lace Reflection” (Photography).
RAC gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday from 12 pm to 5 pm and Saturday from 10 am to 1 pm.
RAC celebrates the study, creation and appreciation of the arts through classes, exhibitions and events open to all in the community. For over 60 years, this nonprofit organization has been a cultural gem in Rowayton, CT. The gallery and art school overlook the scenic Five Mile River at 145 Rowayton Avenue with space for regional artists to exhibit their art and a classroom for workshops and classes at all levels offered to children and adults.
