RAC in the Spotlight
We were thrilled to host Kendyl (center in photo) and Rich (right) from the news magazine Chronicle on WCVB Channel 5 Boston to spotlight our artists in the gallery and students upstairs! They also visited the Rowayton Gardeners and Historic Rowayton to include footage for an upcoming “Main Street and Back Roads” travel segment.
The team is shown interviewing Javier Eastman, new RAC Exhibiting Member and 1st Place winner in our Spring Juried Show, with his oil painting “Stepping Out” hanging on the wall. Watch the entire segment here!

Frederick “Rick” Bannerot IV
We are sad to share that RAC Exhibiting Member Rick Bannerot passed away last month in a boating accident. Rick graduated from Yale University where he pursued American Studies and Photography. He loved photographing sailing regattas across Long Island Sound on his beloved boat, On the Fly, and skillfully captured the beauty and colors of Cuba, India, South Florida and The Bahamas. The family asks that to honor his life, please consider a donation to the conservation and educational endeavors of the
Bonefish & Tarpon Trust and
Junior Sailing Association of Long Island Sound.

Bela Szabo
We have also learned that Bela Szabo passed away on May 11. He was a longtime RAC Exhibiting Member and shared his talents as a teacher for over 50 years. Bela enjoyed working in watercolor as it allowed him to create depth in his pictures. He was a member of both the Rowayton Arts Center and the Darien Arts Center. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Norwalk Art Space.
