Rowayton, CT ……….. Before you chow down your fabulous turkey dinner, come see or participate in a popular Rowayton tradition: The Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning. In this race, when you register to walk, trot, or run, you help to raise funds for the Rowayton Arts Center, the Rowayton Gardeners and the Rowayton Volunteer Fire Department.

Prizes awarded for Fancy Dress, Best Stroller, Best Male, Best Female, Fastest Kids Under 10 – you have to see these 5K and 1-mile family fun runs. You’ll notice the emphasis is on fun!

Registration begins at 8:30am and the Turkey Trot starts at 9:30am on Thanksgiving Day, November 24. Start and finish at the Community Center/Library at 33 Highland Avenue. Parking available at Graham Capital across the street.

So, turn off the TV, get up off the couch and make the Turkey Trot your family tradition. You’ll be thankful you did.

The Rowayton Turkey Trot, an event founded in 2011 by Rowayton residents Paul Wolters and Cameron Letters, has grown from 20 runners in its initial run to over 1000 in 2015! Beneficiaries have included the Rowayton Arts Center, Rowayton Library, Gardeners Club, Rowayton Fire Department and the Historical Society. The route goes through the scenic seaside village of Rowayton with views of Long Island Sound.
