Monique Michaels Edge of the Earth

Monique’s professional work is an exploration and combination of textile art & light boxes, fine art, reportage, editorial, advertising and fashion photography. She is a regular contributor to The New Yorker, Manhattan, Angeleno, C, Los Angeles, and Pasadena Magazines.

Monique’s photography is inspired by Henri Cartier-Bresson, Peter Lindbergh, Alexi Lubomirski, Melvin Sokolski, and Anita Bresser. Her personal work features portraiture, lifestyle and journalistic style street photography and has been exhibited in both solo and group shows at the MOCA / Museum of Contemporary Art Los Angeles, New Rochelle Art Association, NY and Stamford Art Association, CT.

Monique is a member of the American Society of Media Photographers, American Photographic Artists, Advertising Photographers of America and the Press Photographers Association of Greater Los Angeles, Croton Council on the Arts and the Greenwich Arts Council. In addition, she served of the Board of Directors of the MOCA Contemporaries in Los Angeles from 2011-2013. Monique was born and raised in Chicago, lived and worked as an artist in Venice, CA for over a decade and currently lives in New York, NY.
