Young students with a love of art are welcome to join this unique class, featuring everything from traditional drawing and painting to concept art.  Learning to draw from observation in any style will be important for students who want to draw better from their imagination.

This class has a unique blend of instructor-led “how to’s”, coupled with student-led personal projects. This gives students a chance to create what interests them while overcoming issues such as proportion, shading, color theory, and composition.

Supply list:   

Each student is required to purchase their own Drawing pad of white paper (11″x1 4″ or larger).  RAC will provide all other supplies.

About the Instructor:

Felicia Feldman has Masters in Fine Arts (Painting) from the New York Academy of Art, a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts (Painting) from the Maryland Institute College of Art, and has completed a number of Independent studies with renowned artists  Odd Nerdrum, Steven Assael, Will Cotton, Rita Natarova, Noah Buchanan, Vincent Desiderio and Alan Feltus.   She has extensive teaching experience in the Fine Arts in painting, drawing and figuration.  Specializing in observational and realistic techniques: foundational studies, graphite, charcoal, oil, watercolor and acrylic.  Felicia comes to RAC as a new resident to Connecticut having just moved here from Long Island where she worked for years teaching at the Long Island Academy of Fine Art.
