This is a free form advanced photography class spanning 8 weeks. Every time this class is offered it’s different, BUT every time it will push you into areas of photography you may have never considered exploring. The goal of this course is to keep you growing and can be taken multiple times by students who desire a group learning and critique environment.
Equipment required:
Students should have a device that allows them to connect to Zoom, in order to participate in the group lessons and discussions. In addition, DSLR or mirrorless cameras (or any point and shoot camera that can adjust shutter speed, aperture & ISO) are recommended for this course.
Note: This class will be taught online using Zoom. Please have the Zoom app uploaded to your device and become familiar with it prior to joining class. Invites to the Zoom meetings will be sent a few days before the class begins.
About the Instructor: Thom Williams
Thom Williams is a photographic artist currently living in Troy, NY. Thom earned a B.F.A. from SUNY Oswego with studio concentrations in Graphic Design and Photography. He has taken photographs ranging from fashion editorials, portraits, architecture, athletic events and street photography. Whether a gesture, expression, or angle of architecture, Thom is inspired by capturing images not otherwise seen in ordinary moments that can have profound reflective meaning for the viewer. As an artist, he is interested in experimenting digitally with images and more recently in presenting images in a unique multidimensionally way.
His fashion editorials have been published in Saratoga Living, The Muse and Tatoo Envy Magazine among others. Thom’s work can be viewed on TM Williams Photography through Facebook or Instagram. Below is a list of shows participated in.
Teaching at multiple art centers for the past 3 years in person and virtually beginning in 2020 he has found an avenue to share his passion and foster growth for others interested in photography.
