With so much interest in painting these day it’s easy to overlook the importance of drawing. Nobody who is serious about their art can deny this. When you incorporate daily drawing practice you will get better. Simple as that!
I am offering daily inspirations of drawing something very simple so you wouldn’t need to get your studio set up and break it down. It is meant for experienced people who are stuck in some way, or the beginner who never drew before. Every day you will receive a video with an aspect of the art of drawing that will be briefly discussed. Follow the demonstration, do the homework and show up on the zoom meeting to share your results. If you miss a day, just pick it up the next, it’s not a big deal. Don’t make it a big deal, but find a way to sneak in the exercise every day.
You will learn about various pencils, shading through hatching and crosshatching, the importance of the line and composition. You will be learning the use of the viewfinder which I will send to you.
This is especially designed for busy people who want to be inspired to do something every day but cannot seem to find the time to do so. An apple is a small object that could have different colors and shapes. Check out how that works for you. No day will be the same.

I will be sending the first video and exercise on April 1. Our first Zoom meeting will be Wednesday, April 5 at noon.

I would highly recommend Jacobina’s On-line Drawing classes. I had a very satisfying and rewarding experience. She is very easy to work with and I learned so much in such a short period of time, online from Boston when we were in lock-down mode. Jacobina gives clear and detailed instructions for each lesson, actually drawing the object in front of you — almost like a practice run! The lessons build on one-another so you see progress week after week. Carol Weintraub, Banker in Boston
When I took figure drawing classes from the Ringling school for Art and Design, Jacobina was my patient teacher. I had a desire to tap into the vast knowledge she showed me and when she offered the coaching I didn’t hesitate. We both committed to three months of drawing. I thought there was not much else to learn after three months, but boy, was I wrong. We have been working for almost a year and it feels like I never want to stop discovering various drawing techniques. Kathy
I’m a marine biologist who spends time at the intersection of science and policy. I didn’t think I could draw or be creative. On a whim, I signed up for Jacobina’s class and learned so much about myself and the creative process. Her instruction helped me reconnect and awaken my right brain in ways I knew existed, but had no idea how to access. Her classes are paced perfectly. As a super busy person, I didn’t think I’d have time, but I did. As a non-artist, I was afraid of being judged, but I was supported and valued. I learned that the beauty in art is having no judgement, there is a flow, and a sense of just being. I signed up to learn how to draw, but I ended up learning how to be kind to myself, how to connect to hidden parts of my brain, and how to find simple joy with a pencil and paper.
