Jump into a fun evening of gelli plate printmaking!
Workshop Description: This workshop is part of an ongoing series of Gelli Plate Printmaking workshops which are designed to be appropriate for both new and returning students. Each workshop will focus on a new gelli plate printmaking process while continuing to incorporate techniques taught in in the past, including the ever-popular botanical impressions, using floral elements from your own backyard. Take one, take all. Space will be limited to encourage one on one instruction.
All students, irrespective of experience, will enjoy the feelings of fun and success as they experiment with the various gelli plate methods.
The October 9th Workshop will be Autumn Gardens.
What is Gelli Plate Printmaking? Gelli Plate Printmaking is one of the hottest, trendiest and easiest printmaking techniques there is. It allows you to make monoprints without the need for a large, expensive press. Just roll a thin layer of water-based paint over the Gelli Plate, top it with the paper of your choice and use palm pressure to set the print. The gelli plate will pick up the shape and texture of anything you put on it. There are so many ideas and techniques to experiment with! We promise you the experience will be satisfying and fun and yes, even a tad bit addictive;)
