Fee: $50 (includes all art supplies)
This workshop is a RAC tradition celebrating the start of the Holiday season and the beginning of winter. We’ll be creating a variety of fun holiday themed 3-D characters using pine cones, corks, fabric, yarn, beads, feathers, glitter, etc, etc. Expect your child to come home with items that will become family heirlooms 😉 There will be a maximum of 10 participants. We suggest you register early.
All art supplies will be provided by RAC. Participants should dress to get messy.
Suzy Aubrey, RAC’s Education Director, will be running the workshop.
About the Instructor
Suzy Aubrey has been doodling and drawing since she was old enough to hold a pencil. She was the kid in class whose notebook margins were filled with caricatures of those around her and in her imagination. She claims that drawing while listening helped her to process the words being heard and continues with the practice to this day.
As a graduate of the University of Vermont, she was lucky enough to take a full slate of art classes along with her Business studies. After college she continued to draw, paint, knit, collage, etc as a way to feed her soul. She was one of the founders of Columbus Magnet School’s “Adventures in Art” program and has sold her art work at RAC, Brendon’s 101 and the CCNS art shows. Today she’ll tell you she has her dream job as the Director of Education for the Rowayton Arts Center. “It’s the perfect mix of business and art and gives me the ability to share my love of art making with the local community.”
