Frank earned a BFA in Graphic Design from Suffolk University in Boston. He has worked professionally in the field for over 15 years in both print and digital capacities across various industries including Financial services, Pharma Advertising and publishing. Additional education and training includes Drawing with a Focus on Artistic Anatomy, and Painting Creatively from Photos at Silvermine Arts Center, and Painting the Figure with Martin Campos.

Frank has an affinity for people watching and a curiosity of each individual’s story. So it’s no surprise that the figure is central in his body of work. With each piece, Frank’s goal is to combine a degree of abstraction and expressionism while allowing the order and concepts of an academic approach to remain as a framework  – creating a world that is fragmented and dreamlike, allowing the viewer to bring their own narrative.

He finds influence and inspiration from the late 19th century periods of Realism and Impressionism (Sargent, Sorolla, Degas, Cassat) and more recently the Bay Area Figurative Movement of the 50s and 60s (Diebenkorn, Park, Bischoff).
