Frank Maco is a Connecticut-based artist and designer whose work moves between representation and abstraction, using fragmentation and fleeting gesture to create images that feel both familiar and difficult to fully place.
Often beginning with loose, intuitive foundations, Frank builds his paintings through a process of responding rather than planning. Forms emerge, dissolve and shift within layered surfaces, leaving space for ambiguity and personal interpretation. Drawing inspiration from body language, quiet moments and the emotional weight carried in posture and presence, his work aims to feel more like a memory or impression than a fixed narrative.
Frank earned a BFA in Graphic Design from Suffolk University in Boston and has worked professionally in print and digital design for over 15 years across industries including publishing, financial services and pharmaceutical advertising. He has continued his artistic training through studies at Silvermine Arts Center and figure painting workshops with Martin Campos.
