Born into a generation of barefoot, out-after-dark, nature babies, Lori is nurtured by her environment. A painter, Lori’s preferred medium is cold wax, a translucent mixture of beeswax and oil pigments. Her work explores complex layers of color, line and texture. Drawing with unconventional tools, she excavates, creating a calligraphic trail of expressive marks. This image Brackish/detail suggests waters—not salt, not fresh—along the shore. Intentionally, Lori’s paintings evoke emotion, within an abstract conception.
