This class is an opportunity to experiment with watercolor and a variety of drawing, painting and collage materials. Playful experimentation will be combined with exercises that will give you a framework to try out new ideas. The instructor will introduce concepts and demos at the beginning of each class. Experience helpful but not required. Students are encouraged to work on their own projects with subject matter and materials that interest them. Individual instruction is given throughout class.
NOTE: This class will be taught online using Zoom. Students are expected to be well versed in the use of Zoom prior to the start of class. Students will be sent a full recording of every class that will be accessible for up to 30 days.
SUPPLY LIST:
- Drawing Materials: pencil, eraser, black fine line waterproof marker (a sharpie is fine), a few colored pencils, watercolor pencils, markers or crayons. You can improvise with what you have.

- Brushes: I mainly use a #12 round synthetic sable watercolor brush. Additionally, pick up a cheap acrylic brush 1/2′-1” flat
- Opaque white paint, I will be using acrylagouache, but any white acrylic paint will work too.
- Scissors
- Magazines with color images
- Glue or Gluestick, I use matte medium and a cheap flat acrylic brush
I will show you some of my favorite supplies in the first class which are optional.
