FARM to GALLERY Fundraising Event

The evening celebrated all things culinary with the current show “At the Table” on display and the recent “Food for Thought” creative writing contest. Proceeds went to RAC as well as the food pantry at The Open Doors Shelter in Norwalk. Thank you to our sponsors!!! Chantey Sing with Sean and Deirdre Murtha

Everyone is welcome when the RAC hosts its monthly Open Chantey Sing. Lead, sing along with, and/or listen to chanteys, works songs, and other maritime songs. Bring your voices, instruments, friends and enthusiasm for sea music!
Adult Workshop with Vickie Marsango
“Expressive Explorations”
Saturday, August 10 and Sunday, August 11
10:00am to 4:00pm both days
Fee: $305 ( supply list posted on RAC website )
This workshop is designed for students who wish to explore expressive drawing and acrylic painting with an emphasis on creative thinking. Students will discover fundamental techniques through painting exercises merged with an innovative approach to color harmony, compositional balance, and spontaneity. Extensive observation of contemporary master expressionist artists will be introduced for inspiration. Register online atrowaytonarts.org/registration.

“Paint Along” with Lenny Moskowitz

Fee: $45 (Includes instruction, materials, and light dinner. Bring your own beverage.)
Looking for a stress-free way to try or get back into painting? RAC’s “Paint Alongs” are a perfect way to do it. Join popular RAC Instructor, Lenny Moskowitz, as he leads participants through a simple landscape painting. Students are welcome to follow along or paint something of their own. Either way, it’s tons of fun! Register online atrowaytonarts.org/registration.

Opportunities for Artists
New Canaan Library
The Art Committee of the Curtis Gallery of the New Canaan Library is looking to showcase art in their gallery and is calling for submissions. Call for works: 2020 Shows – 8 week shows beginning January 2020, final dates TBD. These shows can be solo or dual which is up to the discretion of the committee. There is no size limit on works for these shows. All mediums except sculpture may be submitted. Submission deadline: August 30, 2019. Please enter your submission directly on the New Canaan Library website, through the following instructions at the link here .
Darien Library
Darien Library exhibits artwork on a rotating basis in its Gallery on the Lower Level. The Art Committee of Darien Library meets on an ongoing basis to review the work of interested artists. In order to assist with the selection, artists must submit slides, pictures, or samples of their work. More info here .
