Shop now through Christmas Eve!!!

The RAC gallery is filled with original, handcrafted works by local artists for the annual Holiday Gift Show: small ornaments and holiday-related items as well as jewelry, ceramics and knitted items plus cards, prints and paintings. There is also a special selection of items by the Rowayton Gardeners.

Come shop Tuesday through Friday (12pm-5pm), Saturday (10am-5pm) and Sunday (12pm-5pm) until Christmas Eve, December 24 (10am-2pm). Closed Mondays.

All proceeds from the Holiday Gift Show are used to support RAC

Rowayton Gift Stroll returns Wednesday, December 7

Spearheaded by RAC, merchants in town will be open late until 8 pm on Wednesday, December 7 with a special Sip & Shop going on at the Holiday Gift Show. In the Pinkney Park, Seaside Delights features beach themed apparel, art and unique gifts plus all your favorite roadie cups. Stop by Classic Prep for coordinated holiday looks for your littles and shop Chou Chou for your perfect holiday gift, even something for guys. Core Pilates is also handing out gifts if you sign up for a free 30-minute session. Arden’s has gift baskets of their goodies along with free homemade cookies for snacking on the go. Rowayton Wine Shop will offer tastings of wine specials and other holiday favorites, while SAILS American Grill will feature a special discounted cocktail. Plus Brendan’s is ready with holiday sweets to indulge in and bring home extras! #shoplocal

Artist Eligibility: Any person who participated in or taught a weekly class at RAC during 2022 as well as Junior Members.

Receiving: Monday, January 23 (12-6pm) and Tuesday, January 24 (12-6pm)

Opening Reception: Sunday, January 29 (4-6pm)

Education Update

The Winter session is open for registration and will begin in January with classes available online and in studio. There’s several new classes on Thursdays: Sharon Schmiedel’s “Expressive Watercolor and Drawing,” Denise Minnerly’s “Critique and Technique” and Lenny Moskowitz’s “Ultra Special Beginner Painting.” (Seen here is a student in Anda Styler’s “Painting with Light and Value” class.)

The winter session for youth and teen students will also begin again in January – art classes for elementary school students as well as a skills class for 10-14 year olds. (Seen here are students in “Creative Explorations” with Monica Sprei.) Plus RAC offers private art classes and parties for all ages in small groups in our studio. Schedule a private weekly art class, a Paint and Sip party or Open Sketch session by contacting RAC Education Director Suzy Aubrey at education@rowaytonarts.org or call 203-866-2744 (x-2).

Holiday Card Mixed Media Workshop

Saturday, December 3

10:30am-12:30pm

RAC Instructor Nancy McTague-Stock will lead participants through a variety of mixed media techniques including collage, paint, pen and ink, colored pencil and more with touches with gold and silver leaf to make your art shimmer. Leave with. a box of 10 handmade cards and as many gift tags as you can make, all ready to go!

Fee: $55 (includes all art supplies). More info and register online here.

Online Photography Classes for Adults and Teens

Thom Williams will offer two weekly classes in December: Intro to Adobe Lightroom (beginning December 7 from 6-7:30pm) and Black and White Photography (beginning December 8 from 6-7:30pm) open to all camera types. The rain during Light Up Rowayton brought a small but determined group to the festivities in town – thanks to all who shopped our Holiday Gift Show! Seen here is RAC Executive Director Andrea Letters (right) chatting with customers.
