February 2023 Newsletter

A BIG THANK YOU!

The RAC board and staff would like to thank the CT Cultural Fund of the CT Humanities (CTH) and the 6th Taxing District of Norwalk for recently awarding grants to our organization. As a 501(3)c nonprofit, RAC relies on class income, contributions and donations and sales of artwork to run our operations. In addition, state and local funding has been a critical source of support for RAC for many years. Plus the 6TD is responsible for the recent renovations in the gallery, see photos below!

The Hu Lindsay Memorial Award was established in 2016 for the top winner in Mixed Media for RAC’s annual Abstraction exhibition. This cash prize of $250 honors the life of Hu Lindsay, an active exhibiting member for many years and RAC President from 2007 to 2013. Throughout his successful 50-year career as an award-winning graphic designer, Hu continued to create his own artwork. After his retirement, he concentrated on collages, mixed media artwork and paintings, many of which won awards at regional art venues.
