ONLINE “Visual Experiments with Collage and Crayons”
Thursday, July 8
4:30-6:30pm
RAC Instructor Lenny Moskowitz will show students how to transform a seemingly bland photographic image into a brilliantly composed collage (his artwork here). Open to all levels. Fee $30.

“Abstract Flowers”
Saturday, July 17
10:30am-4pm
This one-day workshop is about exploring drawing, painting and collaging flowers. Lenny Moskowitz (his painting here) will cover the basics of value, color and composition while using an assortment of mixed media. Fee: $85 includes many of RAC’s supplies.

“Paint & Sip”
Thursday, July 22
6:30-8:30pm
Paint & Sips are back in studio! Join RAC Instructor Mari Gyorgyey as she leads participants through a Matisse-inspired painting (seen here). Students are welcome to follow along or paint something of their own.

Summer Session July/August
RAC’s Summer Session begins next week with classes for adults and children both online and in studio. (Here’s RAC Instructor Judy Orseck Katz with her students on our back porch!) There is a new “Play with Clay” youth class as well as our popular 3-Day Art Workshops for Kids. To review the entire schedule, visit rowaytonarts.org/education.
RAC will also arrange private art classes and parties for groups of six or less. Whether it be a private weekly art class, a Paint and Sip party or Open Sketch session, contact Education Director Suzy Aubrey at education@rowaytonarts.org or call 203-866-2744 (x-2).

Community Sponsored Awards 2021 Opening
Sunday, June 27
This annual exhibition features over 60 pieces of artwork by RAC Exhibiting Members representing their best work of the year. The Chair for the exhibition is Heide Follin and the Co-chair is Yuko Ike.
A special thank you to companies and individuals in the area who contributed to the cash awards: Pat Atkin, The Bait Shop, Classic Prep, Darien Rowayton Bank, Fairfield County Bank, The Gatt Group, House of Needlepoint, Ana and Steve Mernick, Barbara Murphy, RBC Capital Markets, Rowayton Fuel, SAILS American Grill and William Raveis Real Estate Darien/Rowayton.

The Best in Show award winner of RAC’s In the City show Mark Schiff was profiled in a Hearst Newspaper article “Retired Bridgeport Dentist Works to ‘Convey Feeling’ with Paintings that Won Rowayton Art Show” by Joel Lang. This front page feature appeared in the “Sunday Arts & Style” section of the Connecticut Post, The News-Times (Danbury), Greenwich Time, Stamford Advocate and Norwalk Hour.
