FREE Art Demonstration with Frank Bruckmann, “How to Approach a Sill Life Painting”
Sunday, September 8
2:00 to 4:00pm
Beloved RAC Instructor, Frank Bruckmann, has just returned from a year long painting sabbatical in Provence, France and is excited to share all that he learned while away. In this demonstration, Frank will demonstrate how he approaches a still life painting. He will be painting in oils, but much of his approach applies to acrylic and pastel artists as well.

Chantey Sing

Everyone is welcome when the RAC hosts its monthly Open Chantey Sing. Lead, sing along and/or listen to chanteys, works songs, and other maritime songs. Bring your voices, instruments, friends and enthusiasm for sea music!
Adult Workshop with Frank Bruckmann, “Painting En Plein Air”
Saturday, September 14
9:00am to 4:00pm
Fee: $140
Come and join Frank in an intensive one-day workshop of outdoor painting at Pinkney Park in Rowayton. The class will focus on drawing, exploring visual perspective and focusing on values to help construct a beautiful landscape painting. Students will learn how to use cool and warm colors plus how to create a sense of space. Frank will teach the class how to utilize paint quality to add texture for a more interesting look to each piece. Oils, acrylics, watercolors and pastels are welcome. “Collage and Cocktails” with Anne McCormick
Thursday, September 26
6:30 to 9:00pm
Fee: $45 includes cocktails, appetizers, instruction and all collage materials.
Join us on for a Proscecco Royale cocktail and all the trimmings you need to create a one-of-a-kind personal collage. Anne E. McCormick will lead the workshop sharing stories, images and techniques from some of the world’s most cherished artists and designers. In addition to the materials provided by RAC, you may consider bringing extra magazines, fabric, ribbon, decorative paper, stamps and/or photos that you might want to use to enhance your artwork. Pequot Library
The Pequot Library is pleased to announce a call for submissions to Art Libris, its 22nd Annual Art Show. The juried exhibition will be on view from October 19 to October 27 in Pequot Library’s historic auditorium. Submissions must be received by September 15, 2019 in order to be considered for entrance. Please enter your submission directly on the Pequot Library website, through the following instructions at the link here .
