“From the RAC Studio” opens on January 11 at the Rowayton Arts Center, 145 Rowayton Avenue, Rowayton, CT. On that day, everyone is invited to enjoy a free painting demonstration by Sam Morrow from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and the opening reception for the exhibition from 4:00-6:00 p.m.

The exhibition features works in various media by RAC Art School instructors plus many of the adults and young artists who participated in 2014 classes at the Arts Center. It continues through January 25. RAC’s winter gallery hours are 12:00-5:00 p.m. on Tuesday through Saturday (closed Sunday and Monday). Admission is free.

Suzy Aubrey, RAC’s education director, says, “The demonstration spotlights the technique of one of our new instructors, and the reception provides an opportunity to meet all of our award-winning instructors and talented students.”

In addition to Morrow, instructors whose artwork is included in the exhibit are Joanne Roy Askildsen, Frank Bruckmann, Georgette Diamandis, Tracey Dinkin, Christy Gallagher, Mindy Green (new instructor), John Grieco, Dana Goodfellow, Mari Gyorgyey, Laurie Ferrante, Lori Lohstoeter, Anne McCormick, Eddie Nino, Kathryn Warren and Stuart Weismiller.

A second instructor demonstration, by Stuart Weismiller, will be presented on Sunday, January 25, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. in the RAC Art School upstairs studio.

For more than 50 years the RAC has been a community cultural hub that provides a welcoming environment for the exchange of arts-related ideas and for regional artists in all media to exhibit and sell their work. In its second-floor studio, The RAC Art School offers year-round classes and workshops for creative people of all ages and at all levels, RAC also underwrites arts education programs throughout Norwalk. The Arts Center is located on the banks of the scenic Five Mile River.
