A new show at the Rowayton Arts Center (RAC), “Photography and Sculpture,” is on view through August 29, 2021. This exhibition features over 60 pieces of artwork by area artists.
Winners were announced by the judge, Deborah Hesse – Photography: Best in Show, Susan Magaziner of Essex, “Old Course,” 1st Place: Robert Sachs of Norwalk, “Returning to Manahattan,” 2nd Place: David Kaplan of Rowayton, “Rising Tide, Driftwood Beach,” 3rd Place: Barbara Shea of New Canaan, “Where Are We Now?” Honorable Mention: Don Hamerman of Stamford, “Untitled Abstract,” Nina Nelson of Darien, “Fourth Position… Kinda,” and Nancy Woodward of Norwalk, “Lightworkers.” Sculpture: 1st Place: Pamela Proctor of Rowayton, “Vessel #1 with Fly, 2nd Place: Joanne Bryant of Redding, “Prince Harey.”
RAC gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday from 12 pm to 5 pm, Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 1 pm. The Chair for the exhibition is Joanna Bridges and the Co-chair is Laure Dunne.
RAC celebrates the study, creation and appreciation of the arts through classes, exhibitions and events open to all in the community. For over 60 years, this nonprofit organization has been a cultural gem in Rowayton, CT. The gallery and art school overlook the scenic Five Mile River at 145 Rowayton Avenue with space for regional artists to exhibit their art and a classroom for workshops and classes at all levels offered to children and adults.
