Call for Artwork Submissions

Annual Student Art Exhibition

We invite artists and instructors to submit artwork created during any of our weekly classes throughout the past year for inclusion in our Annual From the RAC Studio Exhibition. This exhibition celebrates the creativity, dedication, and artistic growth fostered in our studio community.

Eligibility

  • Open to all students and instructors who regularly participated in or taught a weekly class during the past year.
  • All skill levels are welcome.

Artwork Guidelines

  • Each artist may submit up to one piece of artwork for each class they regularly participated in throughout the year.
  • Artists who took classes with more than one instructor are welcome to submit a piece of art for each class.  However, due to gallery space constraints, we may only be able to exhibit two works of art in the gallery.  All work will be exhibited in the online gallery.
  • All entries must be original, created or inspired by the class you took in 2025, and never before exhibited at RAC.  Work created during short term workshops or during Open Sketch sessions are not eligible.
  • All artwork must be ready for display (framed and wired to be hung).
  • Maximum framed size is  30″x30″.

Submission Process

  1. Complete the Online Submission Form: The form will ask you for the following information: name, contact information, class(es) attended, and artwork details (title, medium, dimensions).  You can access the form:  https://newrac.wufoo.com/forms/m1la61290unuknl/
  2. Upload Images: Provide clear JPEG images of each piece you wish to submit.
  3. Submit by Deadline: All online submissions must be received by 11:59pm on Friday, January 2.

Important Dates

  • Submission Deadline: Friday, January 2 by 11:59pm
  • Artwork Drop-Off: Monday, January 5 and Tuesday, January 6 (12-6pm)
  • Exhibition Opening Reception: Sunday, January 11 (4-6pm)
  • Exhibition Dates: January 11 – January 31
  • Pick-up Dates: Monday, February 2 (5-7pm) and Tuesday, February 3 (12-2pm)

Selection Criteria

  • All work will be accepted into the show.
  • This exhibition is not juried for awards; it is a celebration of our collective artistic journey.

Exhibition Details

The exhibition will be held in the RAC Gallery and open to the public during regular gallery hours.

All work will be exhibited in our online gallery for the next year.

 

Fees, Sales and Liability:

  • Fees:  All entry fees are waived for this exhibit.
  • Sales:  Artwork does not have to be for sale, but we urge you to do so.  RAC will collect a 30% commission on any work that sells.
  • Liability: RAC is not responsible for reasonable wear and tear to the artwork submitted.

 

Waiver for Pictures Taken/Used:

We document each RAC exhibition/show with photographs.  Entry into an exhibition/show at the Rowayton Arts Center constitutes permission to photograph you and/or your artwork, and to use an image of your artwork in the RAC e-newsletter, website, online exhibition site and other promotional materials for the exhibition.
