A new show at the Rowayton Arts Center (RAC), “Abstraction,” will be on view February 8 through March 7, 2026. This all media exhibition features artwork by RAC Exhibiting Members with a larger degree of independence from visual references. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday from 12 to 5 pm and Saturday from 10 am to 1 pm.
Winners were announced by the Judge, Tina Villaveces: Hu Lindsay Award – Best in Mixed Media Hanneke Goedkoop, “Coral Reef I,” 1st Place: Heide Follin, “Sea Jewels” (Acrylic and Ink on cotton duck), 2nd Place: Bill Jones, “Teal and Rust #7” (Photography), 3rd Place: Lori Lohstoeter, “Drift” (Cold wax and oils), Honorable Mention: Mindy Green, “Beast of Burden” (Acrylic), Robert Lansden, “Endless Knot #1” (Graphite and Watercolor on Paper), Barbara Shapiro, “Cityscape” (Mixed Media) and Sally VanDevanter, “After the Weather” (Oil and Cold Wax).
RAC celebrates the study, creation and appreciation of the arts through classes, exhibitions and events open to all in the community. For over 60 years, this nonprofit organization has been a cultural gem in Rowayton, CT. The gallery and art school overlook the scenic Five Mile River at 145 Rowayton Avenue with space for regional artists to exhibit their art and a studio for workshops and classes at all levels offered to children and adults.
