A new show at the Rowayton Arts Center (RAC), “Marine & Coastal Art,” will be on view July 26 through August 23, 2026. This popular annual exhibition features artwork by RAC Exhibiting Members with a marine and coastal theme. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday from 12 to 5 pm plus Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 1 pm.
Winners were announced by the judge Zufar Bikbov, a painter and educator based in Watertown, CT: 1st Place: Maxwell Wiesen, “Two Strays” (Oil on aluminum), 2nd Place: Jay Wilson, “International Yacht Restoration School, Newport, RI” (Photography), 3rd Place: Ruth Chapman, “ALOFT” (Collage), Honorable Mention: Suzy Aubrey, “Sisters” (Acrylic), Javier Eastman, “Breathe In” (Oil on panel), Joyce Grasso, “Exhale” (Acrylic on Canvas) and Sean Murtha, “Long Rollers” (Oil).
RAC celebrates the study, creation and appreciation of the arts through classes, exhibitions and events open to all in the community. For over 60 years, this nonprofit organization has been a cultural gem in Rowayton, CT. The gallery and art school overlook the scenic Five Mile River at 145 Rowayton Avenue with space for regional artists to exhibit their art and a classroom for workshops and classes at all levels offered to children and adults.
