Have you ever wanted to bring your own characters to life? In this hands-on workshop, students aged 9-14 will bridge the gap between traditional art and digital design.
This course is designed to help students grow as storytellers as they explore the worlds of character design and comic book creation. We will work in both the sketchbook and on digital devices to master core concepts, including gesture, expression, character anatomy, and page layout.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll have the skills to create your own epic stories.
All skill levels are welcome. Students must provide their own digital devices (e.g., iPads or tablets); they are not provided. However, digital tools are optional, and traditional sketchbook work is the foundation of the class.

- RAC will supply all the other materials which includes the following: Kneaded Erasers, high quality drawing pencils, 3b, 4b, High quality colored pencils and markers, fine tip black drawing markers, and a hard cover sketch book.
About the Instructor:
Born and raised in Indonesia, Sam Wilson is an illustrator, designer and educator who currently lives in Connecticut, just outside of New York City. Sam draws inspiration from cultures, nature, movement, and music, spanning both the real and imagined. By showcasing his artwork at local events throughout the year, Sam hopes to share his creativity and authenticity with the community. In his free time, Sam enjoys exploring cities, traveling, and watching his favorite sports team.
