In these two-day workshops, your child will have ability and freedom to explore various creative concepts through the guidance of professional working artist and teacher, Mari Gyorgyey.  Projects vary by week, but all will have your child painting, collaging, book making, drawing and possibly even printmaking. No matter which week you sign up for, you can be guaranteed your child will be learning about important art concepts and will be given plenty of latitude to explore the areas of creativity that interest them most.

All art materials will be supplied by RAC.

About the instructor, Mari Gyorgyey

Mari Gyorgyey is best known for her nonlinear narrative art which flows into book arts, pen and ink drawings, paintings, computer imagery, and fine art etchings. She is not afraid to mix any of the techniques to communicate her theme.Mari’s approach can be described as figurative and expressionistic. Her quirky and satirical drawings has been compared to Philip Evergood, and William Kentridge and the pre-war drawings of George Grosz. Since earning her BFA from RISD, and MFA from UPENN, Gyorgyey has shown her work domestically and internationally with solo shows in Tapio Gyorgy, Hungary, Budapest, Hungary as well as Stamford, CT., U.S.A. She has won printmaking awards from UPENN, Dharma Silk Company, and the Center for Contemporary Printmaking, where she is a longtime member.

A note about Covid compliance:  You can be assured that RAC is doing everything possible to keep its customers and staff safe from the Corona Virus.  Our studio is spacious and airy with excellent air circulation and plenty of room for people to stay safely distanced from one another.  While our studio can easily accommodate up to 20 people, we are only allowing a maximum of 6 students and one teacher at a time.   Every student will have a 6 foot table of their own on which to work and will have their own set of supplies.

Students and teachers will have their temperature taken before entry into the classroom.  Everyone will be asked to wear masks and have their hands sanitized before and after every class.  Hand sanitizer will be available at the entrance and exits to the studio and all shared spaces and equipment will be thoroughly disinfected before and after every class.   As always, please do not come to the studio if you are feeling sick or have the following symptoms:  cough, fever, shortness of breath (other than the excitement of seeing us), sudden loss of smell or taste, chills, body aches, or sore throat.
