Plein Air Painting for All!
This is a 4 hour painting workshop with the sole intent of introducing both new and more advanced artists to the beauty of painting en plein air. The group will meet on the back deck of RAC to receive instructions and guidance from Lenny and to watch him do a quick demonstration on how he approaches an outdoor scene. The class will then disperse around RAC’s perimeter to work on value studies and paintings of their own. Lenny will be on hand to give suggestions and to simply swoon over your work. Lenny’s a fan of working in a variety of mediums, so feel free to bring your drawing utensils, paints of any kind, water soluble crayons, etc.
The course would cover the importance of values and contrast and their use in creating a sense of depth. We will also try working with a limited palette and using warm and cool colors .
This workshop is available to students age 10 -100. We recommend it as a possible family activity.
We recommend you bring your art supplies, an easel, water, paper towels, hat, sun tan lotion, bug spray and your lunch. If you need an easel or table to work on, you can borrow them from RAC’s studio.

About Lenny Moskowitz
About Lenny:
Lenny Moskowitz is a Connecticut landscape painter who lives in New Haven with his wife.He graduated with his B.F.A from the Philadelphia College of Art and received his M.F.A. from Michigan’s Cranbrook Academy. Lenny has participated in both group and solo shows at numerous Galleries throughout the U.S. and has taught classes and workshops in Connecticut, Block Island, and Nantucket. Presently he teaches at Quinnipiac University, the Rowayton Arts Center and the Guilford Art Center. He has been awarded several artist residencies, including at the Anderson Center in Minnesota and at the NISDA Foundation on Nantucket, MA. In the summer of 2011 he was awarded a residency at Weir Farm in Wilton, CT. He makes yearly painting trips to Maine, Nantucket, and frequently sojourns to the surrounding Connecticut woods to paint.
