“Art & Go Seek: Where Curiosity Meets Color”
This week, our students are diving into the colorful world of creativity with the Art & Go Seek Color Mixing Kit — a wild and wonderful fusion of art, science, math, and word play created by our very own Instructor, Juliana Belcastro. Think of it as part experiment, part expression, and totally hands-on! From swirling primary colors into surprising new shades to naming their own color inventions, to playing around with ratios and air pressure, to resists and diffusion and prompts to encourage exploration beyond the project guidelines. Completed artworks will be trading card sized and stored in the personal journal binders given to each student at the beginning of class.
About the Instructor:
Juliana (Lou) Belcastro spent her childhood in Sea Cliff, NY where she could routinely be found drawing, painting, and seeking out creative endeavors. She spent much of her professional career working with children as a Lower School Art Teacher. She believes in the interconnectedness of information and that the greater the breadth of knowledge, the more there is to draw from when troubleshooting or creating. Juliana developed Art & Go Seek with the aim of showing young artists that art is not a separate entity within the world but something that weaves in and around the world both influencing and being influenced by it. Juliana continues to explore the arts and crafts at every opportunity, and believes they are essential to everyone for a healthy and fulfilling life. She lives in Rowayton with her husband and two children and is a member of the Rowayton Art Center.
