Gelli Plate Printmaking is one of the hottest, trendiest and easiest printmaking techniques there is.  It allows you to make monoprints without the need for a large, expensive press.  Just roll a thin layer of water-based paint over the Gelli Plate, top it with the paper of your choice and use palm pressure to set the print.  The gelli plate will pick up the shape and texture of anything you put on it.   Textures and patterns can be created by incorporating organic and man-made materials onto the plate.  There are so many ideas and techniques to experiment with!  We promise you the experience will be satisfying and fun and yes, even a tad bit addictive;)

You’ll be in good hands with an uber-experienced instructor.  Lori Lohstoeter was a professional illustrator for over 20 years and has taught at SVA, Parsons, RAC and NCC.  She specializes in painting, drawing, 2D and color theory, but is teaching about Gelli Plates because it’s become her personal obsession.

So, take the night off and join us for this instantly gratifying creative art form.
