6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Instructor: Thom Williams

Fee: $85 for entire 4wk session

Workshop Description

Summarize what portraiture is and what constitutes a good portrait.  Describe the nuances of lighting and posing.  Understanding equipment, it’s limits as well as strengths and maximizing what you have to work with. Embracing the concept that a portrait is created in front and behind NOT in the camera. There will be demos to help students see the topics discussed in the real world.

Equipment required:

Students should have a device that allows them to connect to Zoom, in order to participate in the group lessons and discussions. In addition, DSLR or mirrorless cameras (or any point and shoot camera that can adjust shutter speed, aperture & ISO) are recommended for this course. However, since this program has a focus on composition more than the functionality of DSLR or mirrorless cameras, phone camera users could still benefit from this course.
