RAC Classes and Workshops

Education Update

The Summer session of adult classes begins next week and continues through August. There is a wide variety of weekly classes and short term workshops. Here’s a painting by RAC Instructor Jill Nichols – she will be teaching a new evening class for new and experienced painters called “Rhapsody in Color” on Wednesdays from 6-8:30pm starting July 19.

Children’s class registration is open for our Summer 3-Day Art Workshops for ages 6-12 as well as Printmaking and Collage for 8-12 yr olds. Plus there’s a new class “Crocheting for Kids” for ages 8 -12 on Wednesdays from 5 to 6 pm starting July 12 – RAC Instructor (and Gallery Assistant) Michelle Bjerke will teach a fun beginner crochet course that will teach the basic stitches needed to create anything with some yarn and a hook (supplies provided, sample project in photo here!) Stich and Sip

Thursday, July 20

5:30-7:30pm

RAC Instructor (and Gallery Assistant) Michelle Bjerke will teach the basics of crochet so participants can create a variety of items in just a few steps. Fee: $50 (includes all supplies and beverages). More info about adult workshops here.

Paint Rowayton en Plein Air

Saturday, July 22

10am-4pm

RAC Instructor Frank Bruckmann will guide students in their composition, color choices and ability to capture prospective following a brief demonstration. (Seen here is a painting by Frank of Historic Rowayton on the Five Mile River in Pinkney Park!) Participants are welcome to bring along their choice of oils, acrylics or pastels. Looking Up/Looking Down Show 2023

Rowayton Porch Jam

Saturday, June 3

Over 25 bands performed throughout Rowayton, beginning with Tor Newcomer at RAC covering the classics as the day’s warm up band. It was a busy time in the gallery with wristband pick up and merch sales plus KIDS PAINT ROWAYTON, the annual exhibition of artwork created by Rowayton Elementary School’s 3rd grade class visits to RAC.

Artist Paige in Ms. Murphy’s class stands proudly with her Dad and sister (her artwork features the girl with long hair in 10 ft deep water!)
