Thanks so much to Paul Einarsen of Bluewater Imaging LLC for kicking off our Pro Skills Series with his presentation “Beginning Photo Management for Fine Artists” this week!!! Here he is being introduced by RAC Executive Andrea Letters in the photo below on the right. The next FREE workshops will be on Wednesday, May 10 with Kimberly Hendrickson, “Mindful Messaging: Selecting Works with Intention” followed by “Framing to Sell” with Thomas Del Spina on Wednesday, May 24 (preregistration required, more info at link here!)

RAC Classes and Workshops

Education Update

A new session of classes and workshops begins in May with a wide variety of course options.  Here’s an image of  a painting by instructor Susan Fehlinger who will be teaching “Learning to Make it Your Own” on Thursday afternoons.

The spring session for youth and teen students continues through late May. Registration is open for our Summer 3-Day Art Workshops for ages 6-12. Spring Juried Show 2023 Opening

The Spring Juried Show show is now on view through May 13 – this open theme, all media exhibition features artwork by area artists chosen from online submissions.

RAC Artist Selection Drop Off Day May 4

RAC’s volunteer selection committee will review artwork by local artists interested in becoming exhibiting members Friday, May 5. Artists should bring items for consideration to the gallery on Thursday, May 4 from 12-5pm. The artist selection will take place on the morning of Friday, May 5 with notifications sent to accepted artists the following week. Artists should plan on picking up their artwork on Friday, May 5 from 12-5 pm or Saturday, May 6 from 10am-1pm.

Buying, Collecting, Arranging

This free event will feature a panel discussion with three top local designers moderated by RAC’s next door neighbor (pictured here) Jennifer Matthews, Realtor, William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty. Learn tips and thoughts on incorporating art in home design with refreshments provided. More info soon!

In Memoriam

Longtime RAC member Rosamond Emmonds (and mother of Exhibiting Member and RAC Instructor Lisa Thoren) passed away on April 4, 2023. She lived in Darien for over 60 years where she was invoved in the creation of the Darien Arts Council, now known as the Darien Arts Center, which continues to inspire and educate children and adults in art, dance, theater and music. 

Contributions in her honor may be made to the organization at darienarts.org
