Due to overflowing demand for Dana’s April 6th workshop, we’ve decided to add another to the schedule. Feel free to attend both workshops as you’ll be painting different florals in each.
Definition: Abstract Floral Art is a creative expression that combines elements of abstraction with the beauty and essence of flowers. It deviates from realistic representations and instead focuses on conveying emotions, ideas, or impressions through bold shapes, vibrant colors, and dynamic compositions. By distorting and reimagining floral forms, abstract floral art invites viewers to explore a realm of imagination and interpret the artist’s unique vision of nature’s splendor.
The Workshop: Join popular and award winning artist, Dana Goodfellow, in this 2hr workshop where she’ll lead students through the creation of an abstract floral painting. Technique, color, values and composition will be discussed and demonstrated to give participants the confidence and knowledge they need to create a successful floral abstract painting of their own. This workshop will be taught using acrylic paints. All supplies and equipment for this workshop will be provided by RAC. If you prefer to paint in oils, please bring your own supplies.
Suggested Supplies: All acrylic paints, 12″x12″ canvas and other supplies will be provided by RAC for this workshop. If you have some favorite brushes and/or wish to paint in oils, we suggest you bring your supplies with you.
