Rick Daskam

Fee: no charge

In his January Demo, Rick plans on painting from a Still-Life set up.  He’ll discuss values, color, composition and what is important in a painting.  The viewers will see the painting emerge from a blank canvas to a nearly finished painting in the 1.5 hour demo.

Rick Daskam’s paintings have appeared in Art Galleries and Juried Exhibitions throughout Connecticut and New York area.  In 1998 he followed his passion of painting plein-air, and spent his time painting landscapes and farms in the local area surrounding his home.

In 2002 Rick first visited Monhegan Island Maine and fell in love with its rugged beauty.  Returning every year for a week of “sun up to sun down painting”, the artist has produced some of his most memorable works.

In 2004 he began entering Juried Art Exhibitions and Museum shows.  Preferring to express his passion in Oil, Mr. Daskam’s works have garnered him numerous awards from The Butler Museum of American Art in Youngstown, Ohio, The Hudson Valley Art Association, The American Artists Professional League and the Salmagundi Club in NYC.

He has been co-president of the Hudson Valley Art Association since 2016.  In 2019, Rick was the Artist of the Year on Monhegan island with a solo show at the Island Inn.

More of his work can be seen at, www.rickdaskam.blogspot.com

Rick teaches a “Still Life and the Modern Masters” class at RAC on Thursday evenings.
