RAC Classes and Workshops
“Painting Watercolor Landscapes en Plein Air to Live Music” in Pinkney Park!
Friday, June 4
5-7pm
Join us for an evening of painting to live music in beautiful Pinkney Park, located along the Five Mile River in downtown Rowayton. In this workshop, RAC Instructor Karen Siegel will take you step-by-step through a landscape painting using watercolors. The experience will be enhanced with live music provided by professional bassist Mary Ann Sweeney.
No experience is necessary and RAC will provide all the art materials you’ll need. Fee $50 (Bring your own beach chair and refreshments!)

“Painting en Plein Air”
Saturday, June 12
11am-4pm
Participants will meet at RAC for an introduction before moving outside around the building or nearby. Plein Air Instructor Lenny Moskowitz (his painting here) will cover the basics of values, composition and creating a sense of depth. It’s a great class for beginners or more advanced artists. This class is part of the 17th annual CT Open House Day, highlighting attractions across the state. The gallery will be open as well.

Online “Saturday Afternoons with Will” – Atmospheric Landscape Painting with William McCarthy
Saturdays, June 12, 19 and 26
1pm-2:30pm
Through live demonstrations and instruction, nationally acclaimed artist Will McCarthy will teach his process via Zoom and guide students through their own paintings. Open to oil and acrylic painters of all levels. Image: “Morning Rise” by William McCarthy.

Summer Session Plans
RAC’s art classes will continue through the summer for adult and children, both online and in studio. Our popular 3-Day Art Workshops for Kids registration is open as well. To review the entire schedule, visit our website at rowaytonarts.org/education.
RAC will also arrange private art classes and parties for groups of six or less. Whether it be a private weekly art class, a Paint and Sip party or Open Sketch session, contact Education Director Suzy Aubrey at education@rowaytonarts.org or call 203-866-2744 (x-2).
This popular series with instructor Thom Williams (his photograph here) continues with more classes for both new and experienced photographers. Open to all camera types.

RAC @ HAYVN Summer 2021
A new group of RAC artists will be featured at the HAYVN coworking space in Darien this summer:  Ann Marie Tetelman, Lois Weingarten, Erin Nazzaro, Joyce Grasso and Alder Crocker. In the City 2021 Opening

This new themed exhibition features 70 pieces of artwork in all media – such an awesome crowd for a sunny day outing. Thanks also to East Coast Kombucha Company for the refreshments!!!
This themed exhibition on view until June 20 features 70 pieces of artwork by area artists in all media. There are many first time exhibitors, including Best in Show award recipient Mark Shiff (seen above in the blue shorts). The Chair for the show is Bruce Horan and the Co-chair is Joel Flora.

KIDS PAINT ROWAYTON award winning artwork is now displayed in the RAC windows – stop on by!!!
