In this workshop, students will create collage papers using the ever popular Gelli Plate Printmaking technique.  Students will then cut and collage the printed papers to create individual masterpieces.  The concepts of design, texture, color and value will be discussed and demonstrated as they play an intimate role in the creation of any successful artwork.

This workshop is geared toward people new to the gelli plate printmaking process as well as those familiar with the technique.  Mari and Pam will guide students step by step helping them to develop prints and compositions that suit the individual’s taste.

Suggested Supplies:  All the necessary supplies for gelli plate printmaking and collage will be provided by RAC.  However, you’re encouraged to bring some items from home that may add an interesting textural quality to your prints and collage.  Examples include flowers, leaves, combs, corrugated cardboard pieces, yarn, bubble wrap, etc.  You may also want to bring reference photos for use in designing your collage.
