Instructor: Chris Shore from CCP

Fee: $65 (incl all supplies)

Workshop Description: Technically, monotype is the simplest form of printmaking. An artist puts ink on a surface such as metal or plexiglass and then prints the pigment on paper to create a monotype.  Where traditional printmaking techniques like woodcut, etching, or lithography require cutting or chemical fixing of a design so that the image can be repeatedly inked and printed, monotype does not.  The direct transfer of a fresh painting or drawing in this process yields just one (‘mono-“) print (“type”). This workshop will introduce the basics of the “painterly print” to artists of all skill levels with use of non-toxic or low toxicity materials.

Supply List:  All materials will be provided.
