In these three-day weekly workshops, your child will have ability and freedom to explore various creative concepts through the guidance of cherished Roger’s Elementary School art teacher, Laurie Ferrante.  Projects will vary by week and will always include a variety of supplies, techniques and new skills to learn.  Some weeks we’ll be focused on printmaking, other weeks we’ll be working with mixed media and other weeks we’ll be creating work based on famous artists.  Regardless of the week you sign up for, you can be guaranteed your child will be learning about important art concepts and will be given plenty of latitude to explore the areas of creativity that most interest them.

All art materials will be supplied by RAC.

About the Instructor: 

Laurie Ferrante has a BFA and an MS in Fine Arts / Art Education from the University of Bridgeport and CNR.  She comes to RAC with 30 years of art education experience.  Currently teaching at the Rogers School’s IB program in Stamford, Laurie is a painter at heart working in mixed media and altered photography.  She also repurposes old furniture with lots of paint and love.  Recently she has become more passionate about the performing arts designing sets and creative props for her school’s theatrical productions.   Lastly, her greatest love is spending time with her three daughters. and enjoys the beach and reading whenever possible.
